Grandpa Stirling sitting in his chair by the window watching a base ball game on the TV while listening to another one on the Radio, and he could tell you everything that was happening on both of them. The time we were at Boulder dam, the fish were schooling near the spillway and Grandma Stirling voiced her concern that they were going to drown.

There are too many to put here so will give a couple. The camping trips, one time we were at Mammoth creek, Clayton told us that the trunks of pine trees smelled like strawberries or vanilla etc., so we were all smelling the trunks off the trees by the road, several cars went by very slowly, we probably looked really stupid. fishing on Posey Lake, that lasted for a long tine because Bob loved to bring it up to see Cherrie get mad all over again.

I have so many fond memories of “family get togethers”, I remember a lot of laughter. I remember going to grandma’s house and she would always tell us to go into the kitchen and get a cracker (which always tasted better there). I remember her old tub with the “claw legs” I remember “Tab” as the favorite drink of my aunts and always lots of food. I am so glad I belong to such a great and crazy family.

Clayton & Sue Olds
The most favorite Stirling memory has to be the year almost the whole family got together at Jackie and Warren's place for Thanksgiving and they had a two bedroom house with one bathroom. There were people sleeping in every inch of the house including under the table. Clayton's sister Pat was also living in San Diego and we went to stay with them one night. They had a large house with three bathrooms. Pam came in Pat's house soon after we got there and said ' I need to go the bathroom" I told her to go ahead and go into the bathroom and she said, " I don't need to stand in line first?" That is exactly what we had to do was to stand in line and wait our turn. That was the most wonderful Thanksgiving we ever had. Another Favorite memory was when Bob And Olin had to leave Thanksgiving Morning to ship overseas, so our mother fixed Thanksgiving Dinner and we ate at 7 am. Our Father always praised mom's cooking and when he tasted mom's carrot pudding and dip he said, "Thelma, you have out done yourself, this is delicious. When the next person tasted the dip they about threw up. and after checking mom found that she had used Italian bomb hand lotion instead of lemon flavoring. We have laughed about this many times. Then there was the sandwich joke that mom told so many times and laughed so hard while telling it that you could hardly understand anything she said, but no one could tell it quite like she could.

Pam Johnson
Summers when Aunt Mary & her kids were here and everyone else would come and we would cause trouble all the time—and after Aunt Cherrie & Uncle Olin went through the temple and we played practical jokes on them.

Interesting Stirling Fact: When Heath was born, Uncle Bob came by and wanted to know what we had named him. I told him Heath, he said Keith? I said no, Heath and he said, “Well, Pete will do!” And he called Heath Pete the rest of the time he was alive.

Don Johnson
